Hammer guide huh ......
well i won't say i'm good or anything like that but i can be sure that i have pretty much mastered the basic of hammer ..... . How can i be that sure ? well that's because i saw a friend of mine spam the turning thing(which from here on wards i'll call it "the cyclone") when he is using the hammer which is like the most ridiculous thing to do when using a hammer , I'll get to the ways of using "the cyclone"
The Basic Concept
Firstly, i'll say something about the basic concept of hammer , if you are a blademaster you would be used to attacking any place of the monster you like as long you see the time is right .....right ? (beside lance and gunlance which need to block and poke a few time and etc. etc. etc. ) but for hammer you will not do this , you hear me ? you will not wack any part of the monster you like (unless you are desperate or you know the monster is dying) this is because as a hammer user, you whould only wack it's head and only it's head , at least always aim it's head . since only a attack from hammer/ HH that lands on the monster head will deal the KO damage which will knock it out unconscious for a moment which will reward you with lots of free attack.
Things you should bring when using a hammer
When using different weap. you will need to bring different item to use , as a hammer user you should bring mega juice and / power juice . If you ask why , think about it you will be running and dodging and charging the hammer with the R button a lot which your stamina bar would surely be insufficient .
So I'm interested in hammer and which hammer i should create ?
I don't recommend buying a hammer in early stage without even know how to use a hammer instead i will call you to go to the training school and train your hammer skill ,best training monster would be yian garuga , it is in moderate difficulty and it is the type of monster to best hammer with
Monster that is good to be hammered
All monster that it's head is low and easily reached , example of monster which it's head is not easily reached : plesioth(and all giat piscine) and hemitaurs .
How do i know if i'm good or following the "rule of hammer"?
That is easy ! just see if you are playing like this guy here :

If you are, then you can use hammer for monster's like silver los , gold rathian and many more easily .
Armor and Element ?
So ....what armor should i get ? well the armor doesn't matter as long you got earplug and some attack skill
The earplug is sort of the most essential thing for hammer because you wouldn't want to get bothered by screams when you are half way charging your hammer . And i don't think element is necessary since you'll be only wacking it's head , and not wacking it as much as SnS or D.S.
